Wordless sadness (poem)

Wordless sadness, why I couldn’t say
Moving quietly, placidly, some days
In streams of feeling with nowhere to lie
Memories of melodies of reveries
of blue cloudless skies and mountain tops
to climb and see beyond the horizon
And sometimes I grow so small I could
fit in your pocket and watch the world from there
Without having to touch, only travel small
to before there were words, just little hurts
dripping from the ground, forming worlds
within worlds, to long for in my sleep

Wordless quiet sadness, softening sound
Reveries into melodies into memories
into me – no safety brakes
Feeling what is, and nowhere to lie
